Funerals and Memorial Services

I specialize in funerals and memorial services for families without a church connection who want help planning a ceremony to honour their loved one.

I meet with bereaved families to learn about their desires and preferences.  Services are custom designed to suit the wishes of the family.  Families are welcome to include favourite readings of their choice and to play any type of music they desire.  I have a resource book containing many kinds of tributes which I share with families seeking just the right words to honour their loved one.  I work with families until they are comfortable with the structure and content of the ceremony.

As an Anglican priest, I have presided at many funerals and memorial services, in funeral homes, churches, homes, and other venues.  I believe that every end-of-life event is a sacred time.  I am comfortable with any level of “religious” content, and am especially pleased to assist families who are not comfortable with “God talk.”

"What do we live for, if not to make the world less difficult for each other?"

George Eliot
